How to Disable Pinch Zoom Settings for Windows 10
How to disable pinch zoom on windows 10. Now
the first thing you need to do is go to “settings”. Once you’re there go to “Devices”. Click “Mouse
and touchpad. Scroll down. and then in “related settings” click “Additional mouse options”.
Then in device settings click “Synaptics TouchPad”. Then unclick “Pinch Zoom”. Click “apply” “OK”
and then “OK” and thats it!
Thank you, very helpful!
Thanks very much and very helpful.
Im so proud of you
Thank you so much! I hated that feature so much! Being a college student it really took away so much of my time by accidentally zooming in and out all the time
thank you so much, My touch pad started lagging yesterday and it would always zoom in and out every 3 seconds, It took me 10 minutes to search and click on this video and type this comment.
That they thought anyone would want this as a default feature….
thank you so much… I cant reach the apply and ok button becoz they are hidden under the task bar..
OMG THANK YOU, it was so annoying every time it zoomed to 150% while I was watching videos on fullscreen.
THANK YOU.
This doesn't work for me. I don't have those device options.. Im using a desktop pC with a wireless kb/touchpad combo from insignia – ANY swipe when i watch netflix or use the film/tv app closes the video!??!??! Im guessing this is a win10 'feature' (FUCKING STUPID AS USUAL MICROSOFT, WOW YOU HAVE NO IDEA WTF YOURE DOING DO YOU!??!??!?!?!?) but there's ZERO touchpad/swipe options available in win10 as far as i can see. I NEED HELP.
SO they include the touchpad/mobile bs 'feautures' BUT DONT BOTHER INCLUDING THE OPTIONS TO CHANGE/ALter thEM<!!>>?!??!?!?! FUCKING MICROSOFT!!!!!!!!!!!!????????
I NEED HELP WITH THIS> IM GOIHNG INSANE
Thank you…this was driving me nuts.
Thank you! You were so straight forward got exactly what I wanted without all without all the bullshit palaver. Subscribed!
Thank you very much!
I dont have the "tool bar" like you had when you clicked on synaptics touch pad… Mine just comes up with other settings I see where it says disable but its blocked out.
Thanks!
Omg thank you so much! 😀
Thanks, that setting was driving me nuts
Thank you so much! Your instructions worked like a charm!!
I love you
I have no device settings tab under additional mouse settings. Hardware is my farthest right tab. Desktop PC. A lot of times I scroll down a webpage my SCREEN ZOOMS OUT????????????? Never did this till this new computer the last year.
This is a genuine thank you for not only making the video, but keeping it simple and uncluttered. Pinch Zoom is by far one of the most useless features on a laptop touchpad. Never fails to suddenly think I want zooming when I'm in browser.
super like MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!!!!
Unfortunately this setting gets set back to default when you reboot your laptop. Well, it does on the HP Pavilion, windows 10.
I was getting to the point where I was about to slam my laptop down because I was so FRUSTRATED with the constant zooming while I was trying to scroll or just move the pointer. Phew
Thank you! I was trying to find that setting!!!
dumbest feature ever….i hate how i have to keep disabling it after i reboot my computer , if there anyway to disable this forever please let me know
My life is finally complete!
if it does not show that tab go to mouse and touchpad and you will find it below
Thanks. This was such an annoying issue for me!!
I finally had enough, thx.
thanks that helped a lot its been driving me crazy constantly fucking up my icon order in my desktop 🙂
Thank you))
Microsoft fails again. Pinch zoom can't be turned off. This didn't work for me. I have a Nextbook 2 in 1 tablet, windows 10, and somehow a month ago the touchpad driver was removed and a "HID compliant mouse" driver was installed. Probably during a regular MS automatic update. It now says nothing about touch zoom under "additional mouse options". Only lists mouse options, nothing touch pad related to be seen. What a royal pain. Almost as bad as the darn tablet shutting down the current program when i touch it anywhere near the upper right corner on the side or back. Pfffffft.
Hey everyone! These instructions to change pinch zoom are tailored specifically to HP devices. This will still work for most other brands but some of the options may look a little different. Some of you have posted ways to change things on other types of computers. Thank you for commenting and helping the community.
I added the fixes for Acer, Asus, and Lenovo to the videos description so you can find those easily. I also posted answers to other common problems like how to fix the changes resetting. So please read the description!
I don't mind people commenting. I love being able to help. This is just so you don't need to wait on me to respond if the fix is listed in the description. It's all for your convenience.
But again, I wanted to thank you guys! You made the comments a great place for discussing these features and helping one another. If anyone has any problems then still comment and let me know. I'll do my best to help.
me salvaste!!!
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks , subbed
Thank you a million times over – problem solved!
Thank you very much Jakor, i was wondering why it would zoom when i tried to scroll
Thank you
thank you so much! the fix for Asus took me a long time to discover but it was incredibily easy to make!
Thanks!
Pinch zoom should be something for which we opt in, not have it forced upon us. I hate pinch zoom.
It appears your instructions are out of date with Synaptics driver. Please check this out.
Serious thanks for putting the alternate solutions in the video description.
None of this stuff works for me on my Asus sonicmaster, I cant even find what type of settings my touch pad is under anywhere
Thank you so much!
Gracias Funciono perfecto
Thank you for sharing!
Why oh WHY do they make it so complicated to disable a useless and exasperating annoying feature?? I just wasted 30 minutes of my time when I could have been studying. I'd like to meet the imbecile who put thus under default settings.
Thank you for this. Sometimes when I'm typing on my laptop or writing a document, my palms would register as fingers and cause me to zoom in or out. It became very annoying and I also turned off two finger scrolling as it was also an issue.
Company has too many employees, otherwise they wouldn't be able sit around and daydream such nonsensical features.
I don't have device settings
wrong! ASUS
ok i think
Thanks Jekor09
Thanks !!!!!
You are a godsend. Thank you so much for making this video.
I have a Dell and the instructions from Anstria Greenwood work. So easy!
Trouble was I spent a couple of hours trying the other way, bypassing the easy way without realizing it.
This option must have been on the screen 20 times and being fixated on the instructions I didn't read it.
Does this have anything to do with the brand of computer or have Microsoft fixed this with an update?
I just got my new laptop and it went through a very large update of windows 10 from what I was using.
I don't mind this feature being there now because it is so easy to turn off, literally five seconds.
Its still doesn't work!
Thank you so much! I couldn't figure out how to disable this until I found your video! Thumbs up!
OMG, I love you. Thanksssssssss <3
Thank you soooooo much!!!! Can't stand the zooming feature xx

Thank you sooo much!!!! just switched to windows 10 and a new laptop and never even heard of pinch zoom lol
Awesome! Thanks. The erratic zooming was getting so annoying.
Thank you very much. Before watching this video, I did everything up until clicking on the clickpad device in the other settings. I didn't realize you could double click on it, as an option, to change more settings. Much appreciated!
Thank you! 🙂
My laptop/Tablet is windows 10 but still no "device setup"
Please make a video on how to DISABLE gestures!!!!! IT STILL DOESNT WORK WHEN I PLAY A GAME.
Thanks a bunch! 🙂
great vid 🙂
Think I got it.. unticked 'pinch to zoom' in touchpad setting. Shit was driving me nuts, just too lazy to figure it out. Change the scrolling direction too.. it's easier.
I FUCKING DETEST windows 10. Just getting to "settings" is a mission on this abortion of an operating system.
My lap top does not have the mouse device options. I have an iview is the Asus for all computers
The new versions of Windows been an absolute disaster, you can't find anything anymore, what an idiots to come up with a rubbish like this

Jek: I have a new Lenovo Windows 10 computer. It doesn't have a "Pinch Zoom" & "Device Setting Tab". So I couldn't fix my zooming problem. So I will probably take my computer back to Best Buy tomorrow.
